1. Inclusive writing

Abstract :
Psycholinguistics is the science concerned with the understanding of language by the human brain. Since the 2000s, this discipline has focused in particular on the treatment of the generic masculine and, more recently, on inclusive writing. Experimental data unambiguously indicate that reading generic masculine forms generates a bias in favor of masculine mental representations, while the use of different inclusive writing strategies seems to be able to mitigate these biases. In this presentation, I will describe the methods and results of these studies before quickly discussing the possible consequences of these findings in everyday life.
