How is Brazil addressing the growing threat of vector-borne diseases in a changing climate?

In Brazil, the “One Health” approach — integrating human, animal and environmental health — is essential to tackle challenges such zoonoses and arboviroses.

Our new film presented during the COP30 Brazil in Belem highlights how community engagement, local knowledge and transdisciplinary research play a decisive role, whether in the Amazon or in urban favelas, in preventing epidemics and strengthening community resilience in the face of health risks amplified by climate change and global transformations.

The film co-produced by IRDMIVEGEC and FIOCRUZ – Fundação Oswaldo Cruz showcases the impact of Franco–Brazilian cooperation, South–South partnerships, and scientific projects such as INOVEC Project, MOSAIC european project- IRD, WINSA Network and PREZODE, which focus on surveillance, prevention and sustainable solutions.
