Thématique :

My research activities focus on the immunomodulatory properties of arthropod salivary proteins. I have an expertise in immuno-epidemiology in studying human-vector immune relationships to develop biomarker of exposure specific to mosquito bites (Anopheles, Aedes and Culex). The main applications are in vector control and in assessing the risks of malaria and arbovirus emergent disease transmission. I am also interested in studying the interaction of insect salivary proteins with pathogen transmission. My current research activity focuses on the active role of mosquito salivary proteins in the modulation of the acquired protective immune response to Plasmodium in natural settings but also to clarify the saliva-induced immunomodulatory effects and its consequences on malaria transmission.
