sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>The ED working group was created to inform, exchange, and raise awareness about issues relating to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) within our unit. Its aim is to propose concrete avenues for improving our professional environment in order to build a unit and a scientific community where everyone has a place and can flourish. The group is committed to identifying and challenging systemic barriers that have historically excluded marginalised communities, in an ethical and inclusive manner.<\/p>\n<p>The working group (WG) is open to (and composed of) all categories of staff within the<br \/>unit, regardless of:<br \/>\u2022 Contract status (fixed-term, permanent),<br \/>\u2022 Contract duration,<br \/>\u2022 Professional level (intern, doctoral student, apprentice, researcher, technical and administrative staff),<br \/>\u2022 Supervisory body (UM, IRD, CNRS, INRAE),<br \/>\u2022 Place of assignment.<br \/>Everyone is free to participate in meetings and discussions according to their availability, with no obligation.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in proposing or participating in actions on this topic, please contact <a href=\"mailto:gt-equite-diversite-mivegec@listes.ird.fr\">gt-equite-diversite-mivegec@listes.ird.fr<\/a>. The group is currently led by two coordinators, whom you can also contact: <a href=\"mailto:marie.buysse@ird.fr\">marie.buysse@ird.fr<\/a> and <a href=\"mailto:silvain.pinaud@ird.fr\">silvain.pinaud@ird.fr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If several resources are accessible on this page, unit staff are reminded that all documents linked and shared by the group are available in the dedicated shared folder \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/collab.net.mivegec.fr\/drive\/d\/f\/12so2sK5UW06Uw6SSZkUQ3r5G1N2xI7G\">click here for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Safe Arrival Kit<\/h2>\n<p>It all started with an observation: students from outside Montpellier who come to our unit for an internship or a short stay may find themselves in temporary accommodation where the bare minimum\u2014such as bedding\u2014is not provided.<br \/>Traveling with a pillow, sheet, and duvet is not very practical, and discovering upon arrival that the accommodation does not provide dishes can be unsettling, often forcing students to make purchases.<br \/>The most frustrating thing is that these students are sometimes unable to take the items they have purchased with them when they leave. This is how the idea for the Welcome Kit was born.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the Safe Arrival Kit?<\/strong><br \/>The unit provides kits containing essential items to help students settle in more easily, without having to bear the cost of purchasing these basic items.<br \/>Each kit includes:<br \/>&#8211; tableware (cutlery sets, plates, glasses, bowls, cups, a salad bowl),<br \/>&#8211; cooking equipment (frying pan, saucepan),<br \/>&#8211; bedding (a pillow, a duvet, two sets of fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases).<br \/>The kits are available on loan so that at the end of the student&#8217;s stay, they can be reused and thus recycled in the long term.<br \/>A big thank you to the members of the unit whose donations made it possible to create these kits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can I borrow a kit?<\/strong><br \/>The kits are managed by a team of volunteers. Since the 2000s, this discipline has focused in particular on the treatment of the generic masculine and, more recently, on inclusive writing. Experimental data unambiguously indicate that reading generic masculine forms generates a bias in favor of masculine mental representations, while the use of different inclusive writing strategies seems to be able to mitigate these biases.
