\u201cBehavioural Sciences\u201d focus group<\/h2>\n

Coordinators:<\/strong> Ang\u00e9lique Porciani <\/a>and Olivier Roux<\/a><\/p>\n

The \u201cBehavioural Sciences\u201d focus group was set up to bring together the skills of behavioural research specialists within the MIVEGEC JRU. It is mainly oriented towards students looking to find an informal forum on which to present and set up their protocols, talk about the difficulties encountered during experiments, and discuss their results. Researchers also use this forum for much the same purposes. Meetings can also take the form of a \u201cJournal Club\u201d or \u201cThink Tank\u201d on general concepts or methods related to the study of behaviours. The group sometimes invites researchers from outside MIVEGEC, and occasionally organises workshops with a wider audience.<\/p>\n

Videoconference meetings are organised every two weeks on Thursdays at 2:30p.m.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9seau Analyse de Donn\u00e9es – RADO<\/h2>\n

RADO brings together scientists who use bioinformatics and statistics techniques on a daily basis. The themes of the monthly meetings revolve around data analysis, computer programming tools, and so on. The originality of these meetings lies in their focus on the bioinformatics and biostatistics methods used.<\/p>\n

Bioinformatics Platform – i-Trop<\/h2>\n

The bioinformatic platform i-Trop \u2013 Plantes \/ Sant\u00e9 \u2013<\/a> provides resources for the following 4 research units and their partners in the South.<\/p>\n

This platform meets 3 computing needs for science: \u2013 High Performance Computing for data processing (bioinformatics, modeling) with a cluster of 26 computing nodes; \u2013 Computer applications for science (databases on clinical trials and studies on HIV and Ebola, databases on coffee, rice, insect collections, for the management of biological samples from laboratories, websites, etc.); \u2013 Training in bioinformatics and thematic schools in the South. Currently, this platform is managed and animated by a system administrator (Ndomassi TANDO), 6 bioinformaticians (Aurore COMTE, Jacques DAINAT, Alexis DEREEPER, Nicolas FERNANDEZ, Julie ORJUELA et Christine TRANCHANT-DUBREUIL) and an engineer specialized in information systems for science (Bruno GRANOUILLAC).<\/p>\n
